Bill Bailey – Limboland 20.00 to 21.15
Bill Bailey is an English comedian, actor and musician. Bailey is known for his role as Manny in the British sitcom Black Books and for his appearances on British panel shows such as ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’. He plays a variety of musical instruments and incorporates music into his performances. In 2020, Bailey won the eighteenth series of the televised dancing competition Strictly Come Dancing. Tonight’s performance by Bill, Limboland, describes a place where we find the gaps in life... From a fantastically downbeat version of Happy Birthday - via a hilarious tale of a disastrous family trip to see the Northern Lights - to a heart-rending country and western ballad on the nature of love, Bill explores our expectations of happiness with his trademark wit and musicality.
Live Comedy! 21.30 to 23.00
Joe Blair (UK)
Joe is a father of three who resides in Reading ‘City of the Future’. His interests include newts, prime numbers and the desire to bake the perfect bagel. He is old enough to have performed stand-up standing on a stage as opposed to sitting down over Zoom.
Keith Brokenshire (UK)
Keith has performed all over the world maintaining CoVid-19 restrictions performing at home on Zoom without the aid of any trousers, flying by his pants. He has performed live on stage in London and Plymouth, thankfully with his clothes on.
Aliya Brown (USA)
Aliya Brown is a Pennsylvania based comedian, writer, and producer. She has performed at various venues and festivals around the east coast, favouring her hometown of Bethlehem Pennsylvania's ArtsQuest Comedy Platz during Musikfest. If anyone is interested in reviving The Muppet Show and is looking for writers she would like to be considered.
Jim Everett (UK)
Jim is a close to 73 year old Welshman; veteran of the British Army 1966-98. Lived in Northern Ireland for 28 years and started attempting stand-up in 2015.
Jim has done BGT 2016 Judges Auditions, Edinburgh Festival 2017 and occasional gigs in person and now over Zoom.
Jimi Longmuir (UK)
Jimi Longmuir wandered into comedy by mistake in October, 2018, and has kept performing since then for some reason. Since Covid hit, he has been kept going with the online gigs that sprang up around the world during the Pandemic. That inspired him to create a podcast interviewing fellow roast refugees. It's called “Oh Lockdown. How We Laughed...” and it airs on Mixcloud and Anchor, with new episodes every Monday and Thursday.
Embarking upon stand up early in 2020, just before a global pandemic, is a display of Gary Manhine’s brilliant comedic timing.
His style can be fantastical, vivid, surreal, described by a close family member as “interesting”. When not doing stand up, Gary can be found staring blankly at the clouds and wondering why inanimate objects
keep ganging up on him.
Michael Monkhouse (Italy)
Funnier than Sylvia Plath, younger than the Iliad, sexier than Donald Trump... His career spans over three jokes. A British stand-up who came to Italy for one year twenty years ago. he enjoys acting, stand-upping, and writing and performing sketches, and currently runs Farm Comedy, Rome's only English Open Mic comedy show. https://www.comedy.co.uk/people/michael-monkhouse/
Stephanie Parker (USA)
Stephanie Parker is a stand-up comedian and writer from Philadelphia. She is a champion procrastinator, whose chance encounter with stand-up comedy in grad school has slowly led to seeking out a career in comedy almost a decade later. The year 2020 threatened her sanity, so she channelled her anxiety into studying Improv, becoming a Zoom clown, and co-creating an animated adult series. In her spare time, she hides from the sun, ponders left-handed rights and cleans up her small dog’s vomit.
Marleah Rose (USA)
Marleah Rose is from Massachusetts, USA. She likes to make people laugh and art. Find her @marleahart on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
