The Concept

The concept of the FLF is as follows.

Volunteer contributors select performances to show. These are typically from YouTube but can be from any source as long as it can be viewed on a computerised device and shared via Zoom.

These are then scheduled to create a lineup on different stages.

The performances are then hosted by the contributors at the appropriate time by sharing their screens in a Zoom meeting.

Invites go out to all participants. In the first festival each performance was in a separate Zoom meeting and invites were mailed to each participant just before the start of each show. Unless people had paid up Zoom accounts therefore performances were limited to 40 minutes which is the maximum length of a free Zoom meeting.

Participants had to express an interest and provide their email address.

From 2021 there were just separate Zoom meetings for each stage using paid up accounts running the whole time with invites going out at the start of the festival. Links to the stages were also on the website. This meant festival goes no longer needed to be on the email list. This festival also featured live comedy acts.

The festivals also feature a bar which is a separate meeting were participants can just chat.
